This is one of they worst makeup trends yet, and I see a lot of people sporting it. Over plucked eyebrows are a big no no, and I encourage you to embrace your natural shape, with just a bit of cleaning up. Natural looking eyebrows frame your face better and look WAY more attractive. Take my advice ladies, and never go for that super thin eyebrow looking. IT IS NOT APPEALING.

Drawn-on Eyebrows

Drawn-on eyebrows are obviously dark and unnatural looking and will look like you’ve used a Sharpie marker to fill in your eyebrows. To avoid this beauty crime, I would recommend using an eyebrow pencil or eyebrow powder that is a shade or two lighter than your natural hair color.

Un-matching Foundation

I know this has been said many times but foundation will not look good on you if you pick the wrong shade. So, I would simply get color matched and stick with that foundation shade. If however, you’re having a beauty emergency and you are using a foundation that doesn’t match your skin tone, ALWAYS BLEND DOWN TOWARDS YOUR NECK. Blendind towards your neck will make sure that your face matches your neck and it will look MUCh better.

Over Lining Your Lips

Another beauty crime is about lip liner and that’s over lining your lips. Obviously lining your lips to make it look bigger (and even lining over your lips to the skin around it) is a big makeup crime, not to mention it looks ridiculous. To make your lips appear fuller, line at the edges of your lip line and nothing more. But always remember to BLEND THE EDGES.

Orange Tan

Overtanning is my biggest beauty pet peeve and I really don’t know why anyone would do this to themselves! I feel really bad for putting this photo of this girl up because she seems so sweet, but girlfriend needs to tone it down a notch or 500. To avoid the orange look, change the tanning method you are using. (It is assumed you are not getting real tans, but fake ones! Remember, tanning beds are a big no-no.) If you’re going to use spray tan booths, do your research – I am sure their sites would have before and after pictures to show you the colors. For fake tans at home, I recommend the ones by Clinique, Garnier and Dove. When I was younger, me and my friends played around with these fake tanners and they gave us the most natural beautiful tans ever :)

Too Much Blush

Too mmuch blush is one of the most ridiculous beauty dont’s ever. The trick here is to apply a natural looking color that is not too bright, pale or dark for your skin tone. It also depends on what kind of brush you are using. If you are using a typical blush brush, and you are trying to apply a bright blush, I would not recommend the typical blush brush. Use a duo-fiber brush, like the MAC 187 brush. Apply blush, take a step back and look at yourself in the mirror – is the first thing you notice your bright cheeks? If so, instead of taking forever to remove all of that blush, I would recommend taking a cotton ball or kabuki brush to blend the clown-like blush to make it look more natural looking.

(via papertissue)

(via papertissue)

good idea or bad idea: the scarf-neckalce?

But the company’s latest product, 25 Hour Foundation, has us a bit bewildered.

According to Rimmel’s site, the new foundation promises “no sign of makeup fatigue for a full 25 hours.”

We have a few questions:

1. What happened to sleeping?
2. Since when is not washing your face acceptable?
3. Why the extra hour in the day?
